WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:

  Newton Watercolor Society is excited to share that an incredibly talented and experienced artist will be teaching our upcoming workshop in October!

  Jean-François Arnaud is someone who has spent years honing his craft and has inspired artists at every level. Arnaud brings not just amazing technical skill, but a genuine passion for art and a wealth of creative knowledge that he is eager to share with all of us. Whether you are just starting out or have been creating for years, this is a fantastic opportunity to learn, grow, and get inspired alongside a truly gifted artist.

  Jean-François has developed a simplified yet expressive approach to watercolor that is both intuitive and highly effective. Built around a strong composition and a limited palette of just four primary colors—Royal blue, Cadmium yellow, Cadmium red, and Indigo—his method makes color mixing easier to understand while promoting greater color harmony. Inspired by his background in printing, this streamlined palette demonstrates that with only four colors, you can create nearly any subject in watercolor.

  We are offering a three day in-person workshop, October 23rd- 25th, from 9:30am- 4:30pm, with a one-hour break for lunch. This will take place at the Artisan’s Asylum, located at 96 Holton Street, Boston MA 02135. We wholeheartedly encourage you to join this workshop – it has the potential to transform the way you see, understand and use pigments in your painting.
