Description

Anne Harrington

I have been creating art for many years, although I didn’t have a serious interest in fine art until I began photographing in the 1990s. While I continue to photograph regularly, my primary focus now is watercolor painting and pencil drawing. I am continually inspired by nature and try to observe carefully wherever I go. That said, my goal when I paint is to convey with color and sense of place (or subject) what I feel. My subjects are often more intimate in nature than grand landscapes. What attracts me to watercolor is the challenge and immediacy of using water and paint to express something about life that I would like to share with you.

I am a member of the Watertown Art Association, the Newton Watercolor Society, the New England Watercolor Society, and Arlington Center for the Arts. In March 2019, I had a solo exhibit of 27 watercolor and pastel paintings in Belmont, MA. I have also participated in various group shows.
