Join the Newton Watercolor Society!

The Newton Watercolor Society (NWS) provides opportunities for artistic development for professional and amateur watercolor artists

Our membership year runs from January 1st to December 31st and we accept new membership applications throughout the year. Artists who sign up on or after the Annual Meeting have an extended membership year including the following year. Our Annual Meeting to which all members are invited is in the Fall.

The plan is to meet once a month in person and once a month for an online event via Zoom. Exact meeting times and locations can be found on our website at www.newtonwatercolorsociety.org. Our members always receive a Zoom invitation several days before the meeting.

Our main means of communication is by our newsletter that is emailed at least quarterly and by event emails that are sent as needed.

PLEIN AIR – In person sessions will be offered in the months of May, June, September and October, depending on the weather conditions. A new “plein air @ home” model, where we paint a given theme and share our work via Zoom, is offered some of the weeks.

WORKSHOPS – We usually offer two to four workshops each year. More information can be found on our Workshops page.

SHOWS – There will be one Annual show that we expect to be in person and one online show. Details will be available on our Shows page. Also, please check out our past shows.

DVD LIBRARY – We have a large growing collection of watercolor videos that members can borrow free of charge.
