SUMMARY:"Fruits and Vegetables" In-person Workshop with Wendy Artin
DESCRIPTION:UPDATE: This workshop is full. Please click “Figure Painting and Still Life” to apply her September in-person workshop.\n“Fruits and Vegetables”\nMonday & Tuesday August 30 & 31\, 2021\n10 am – 5 pm\nLocation: Nearby Gallery\, 101 Union Street\, Lower Level\, Newton Center \nThis two-day workshop is a plunge into painting strawberries\, asparagus\, or other seasonal fruits and vegetables with watercolor.  Explore the finer details of nature through wet washes and color\, light\, and form.  All levels from beginners to advanced are welcome. \nCost*: $350 for members\n$400 for non-members \n*The workshop fee includes a $25 non-refundable registration fee. \nWorkshop Instructor \nWendy Artin has lived and painted in Boston\, New York\, Mexico\, Guatemala\, Paris\, and Rome and has exhibited in Boston\, Paris\, New York\, Ann Arbor\, Milan\, London and Rome.  Her work has been featured in Watercolor Artist\, L’Art de l’Aquarelle\, American Artist Magazine\, Artscope\, Pratique des Arts\, Arts Magazine\, Gourmet\, Artsmedia\, Elle Decoration\, Cote Sud\, French Vogue\, Elle\, Joyce\, Carnet\, the Boston Globe\, the New York Post\, and Vanity Fair.\nA film on Artin has been featured on Bravo’s Arts and Minds.  She is an Artistic Advisor and has been a Visiting Artist several times at the American Academy in Rome.  Her work is in the collections of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts\, the Kelsey Museum\, the Boston Public Library\, Fondation Colas\, and many private collections around the world. \nWorkshop Location The workshop will take place at the newly-opened Nearby Gallery at 101 Union St\, Newton Center\, on the lower level. It is accessed through the gallery\, down the stairs. There is no elevator. The Gallery is directly across from the MBTA Green Line station\, Newton Centre. Nearby parking is available at the main parking lot at the intersection of Beacon Street\, Langley Road\, and Centre Street. \nSupply List Participants are to bring their own supplies. A supply list for the workshop will be sent to all participants by the end of July. Supplies can be stored overnight in the workshop room on Monday\, August 30. \nWait List There are 17 available spots. Registrations are accepted in the order they are received. Participants are notified per email. When the workshop is full\, applicants can request to be placed on a waitlist. \nCancellation and Refunds All cancellations must be made in writing. You may send an email to info@newtonwatercolorsociety.org. Alternatively\, you can send a letter canceling your participation. Your cancellation is not valid until you receive a cancellation confirmation from NWS.\nMail to NWS – 183 Langley Rd\, Newton\, MA 02459. \nIf you cancel before August 1\, 2021\, a full refund minus $25 registration fee will be sent to registrant’s address. If you cancel on or after August 1\, 2021\, you will forfeit your entire workshop fee if we are unable to fill your spot. \nMiscellaneous Snacks and drinks will be available in the morning and afternoon; lunch is not included. There will be one-hour lunch break. The Gallery is close to many eateries and coffee shops. \nChanges Students will receive a full refund if NWS cancels the workshop. NWS is not responsible for providing make-up sessions or issuing refunds for a day or the entire workshop missed as a result of student illness or emergencies. \, or other events beyond our control. \nQuestions?
